Persela Lamongan officially announced Jose Wilkson as their new signing for the second round of Liga 1 2021-2022.

Jose Wilkson was brought in on loan from another East Java team, Persebaya Surabaya.

The certainty of joining Jose Wilkson was confirmed through Persela’s official Instagram on Monday (3/1/2021).

“There was an agreement between Persela and @officialpersebaya, we will use @wilkson11 until the end of the 2021/2022 season on loan.” wrote the club’s Instagram post.

“Welcome to the Laskar Joko Tingkir Wilkson family!”

While in uniform with Persebaya, Wilkson has appeared in 13 matches this season.

The contribution of the 32-year-old player is also not too bad by contributing 6 goals and 2 assists throughout the first round of Liga 1.

However, Persebaya seems more interested in recruiting new foreign strikers who have sharper instincts.

Meanwhile, Persela actually still has a Brazilian striker, Ivan Carlos in his squad.

Ivan Carlos has reportedly been released by Persela Lamongan’s management.

In addition to not contributing less, Ivan is also often disciplinary.

In the preparation period for the second round of Liga 1, he has been absent from training sessions with the team several times.

Before bringing in Jose Wilkson, Persela had managed to land Nerius Alom, Ricky Akbar Ohorella, and Kaharuddin Salam.
