Entering the 19th minute, De Gea again showed toughness under the bar by denying Nelson Semedo’s chances. Six minutes later, Podence’s second chance was thwarted by De Gea.

Wolves’ offensive game made it difficult for Man Utd, but there were no goals until the first half was over.

Man Utd played more aggressively in the second half. Ralf Rangnick’s men immediately did pressing when the Wolves players had the ball.

Changes in playing style made Man Utd increase the percentage of possession of the ball. But that doesn’t necessarily make the Red Devils endanger the Wolves defense, which is also still generating opportunities.

Man Utd had a golden opportunity in the 67th minute. Bruno Fernandes received a cutback from Nemanja Matic without an escort. Fernandes kick only made the ball hit the bar.

A minute later Ronaldo put the ball into the net, but the score did not change because the Man Utd captain was in an offside position.

After a few more moments of defending, the Wolves launched a counterattack. Matic’s foul on Adama Traore results in a free kick. Romain Saiss’ execution saw the ball hit the bar.

Entering the 82nd minute an attack on the right side of Wolves created by Traore. Crossing Traore was denied by Jones. Jones throws the ball to Joao Moutinho. With one control, Moutinho then fired a shot that changed the numbers on the scoreboard.
