Asnawi Mangkualam’s contract with Ansan Greeners will end in the near future. Jo Min-guk’s coach indicated that he would keep Asnawi.
Asnawi was announced as a new player on January 22, 2021. At that time the club announced that the former Makassar player had a short-term contract with a duration of 1 year plus an option for an extension of 1 year.
Now Asnawi’s contract at Ansan is nearing its end. There has been no news of a contract extension announced by either party.
Even so, Jo Min-guk has openly planned to optimize Asnawi for the 2022 season. The new coach Ansan’s statement is a signal that Asnawi will remain at Ansan.
“I want to play Asnawi to be more aggressive, every time I see his game, Asnawi is more attacking than defensive,” said Jo Min-guk, quoted from an interview with the footballist.
“From that point of view, it might be even better. If we continue to work together, we plan to make him a winger,” he added.
Currently, Asnawi has not joined Ansan after appearing in the 2020 AFF Cup. Meanwhile, the club has undergone pre-season training to welcome the 2022 season.
The first exercise has been held starting on Tuesday (4/1/2022). The club gave Asnawi a break from the green field for a while before joining training again.
“Currently Asnawi is given the opportunity to rest first by the club. The player is also still in quarantine after arriving in Indonesia from Singapore,” wrote the footballist report.
“After completing quarantine and spending time in Indonesia, he plans to follow Ansan’s training this month,” the report concluded.
