Jakarta, ONENEWS.MY.ID – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi (RE) alias Pepen as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption in the form of receiving something by state officials or representatives related to the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City government.
The decision was made by the Chairperson of the KPK, Firli Bahuri in a press statement at the Merah Putih building, Jakarta, Thursday (6/12/2022).
“Based on the testimony of the examination of witnesses and the evidence that has been collected by the KPK, the KPK has concluded that there are nine suspects in the case of arresting the alleged criminal act of corruption in the form of receiving something by state officials or representatives related to the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions. in the Bekasi City government,” said Firli.
The suspects are as follows:
a. As givers there are four people, namely:
AA, LBM, SY, MS
b. There are five recipients, namely:
RE, MP, MY, WY, JL
“Furthermore, for the sake of investigation, prosecution and justice, the suspects are detained at the KPK,” said Firli.
According to Firli, during the arrest, the KPK team secured a total of Rp 5.7 billion in evidence. The details are IDR 3 billion in cash and the rest is the balance in the savings book account.
As is known, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) previously conducted a hand arrest operation in Bekasi City, West Java, Wednesday (5/1/2022). Apart from Pepen, as many as 11 other people were also caught in the operation.
Today, the KPK has secured one ASN in the Bekasi City Government and one person from the private sector. Thus, the KPK secured a total of 14 people consisting of the Mayor of Bekasi, several ASN people, and the private sector.
